Who is Stella?
Stella Akani-Olusami is a Conflict Mediator / Resolution Consultant. She attended United States Institute of peace, Institute of Business Management, Stellenbosch (Cape Town, South Africa), University of Massachusetts (Boston USA) and Maastricht School of Management (Holland).
She started her career in 1995 as a Conflict Containment Officer (CCO) with the Academic Associates Peace Works (AAPW), an International Non-Governmental Organization. She was responsible for managing inter communal and ethnic conflicts, host peaceful fora to resolve conflict between communities and oil companies, penetrate militant groups to manage and rehabilitate them. She anchored several conflict resolution and mediation trainings for the hard-to-reach groups across the 24 Local Government Areas in Rivers State. This gave her firsthand knowledge of the behavioral pattern of different groups and dynamic result orientated strategies. This work gave her ample opportunities to work with leaders of militant groups, community leaders, the management of Rivers State Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the heads of different security institutions in the state to bring peace in River State.
In 1998, she joined the Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency (RSSDA), a development agency set up for human capital development in River State. She contributed in strengthening conflict management platforms of the organization and mobilized and managed youths that were engaged in the scheme. She participated in a number of researches including Needs Analysis and Viable Business Opportunities in the Niger Delta region.
Her exposure to these the hard-to-reach groups generated wealth of knowledge, experience and motivation to form The Stella Ihwechi Foundation (SIF) to give hope and better life to the downtrodden in the society.
She is also a trained OAP. She is currently working on her talk show, ‘‘The Real You with Stella.”
Amidst all these, Stella, a vibrant lady from Obio/Akpor Local Government Area in Rivers State, is a home maker, proud mother of four, happily married and currently resides in Lagos, Nigeria.
She is a lover of God and has written a lot of art works with her recent book titled “OVERCOMING MANIPULATION.”
Stella Ihwechi Akani-Olusami is available for local and international consultations and speaking engagements on conflict management, resolution teens sex education, Health Talks and reorientation of the disadvantaged youths in Africa and beyond.
